Bars of Steel

A live music video series I developed with some key hip hop heads at the station and an excellent digital video specialist.

Bars of Steel is all about representing the best in home-grown emerging rap and reaching a new, young diverse audience that mightn’t already be engaged with triple j.

The two videos on this page account for more than a million views between them and there was a huge spike in subscribers to triple j’s YouTube channel - the majority of that attention came from the exact demographic we were targeting with the content.

It’s the first time triple j has made a digital-first video series and it sits very nicely alongside the weekly Like A Version’s as an appointment viewing session for the audience.
